Thank You For Sharing!

It’s hard to believe, but it is already almost the end of the first month of 2017. I have to say, though it’s been busy, this month has definitely kicked off the new year with a great start. And it’s all because of you.

For those of you who don’t already know, this month I hosted a game on Twitter I dubbed #AuthorConfession . When I created it, I was hoping to get a few other writers in so we could commiserate over our writerly woes and wins. What I got was an overwhelming response from dozens of writers who joined in.

It was the most amazing thing ever.

Logging into Twitter each day and seeing hundreds of responses to the #authorconfession for the day was so encouraging. Not just because people were playing along (although that was pretty damn cool), but because I was able to see the thought processes of other writers. What they viewed as strengths and weaknesses, their goals, their fears, their favorites, and so much more.

Being able to make those connections with people and draw inspiration from their words taught me so much. I gained perspectives on things I didn’t even know I needed perspective on, just by asking questions!

So even though I am technically the one who hosts the game, I honestly think that I am the one who got the most from it because of the wisdom and honesty my fellow writers shared.  Thank you for playing along. Thank you for sharing you insight. Thank you for your confessions. They truly made my month!

I can only hope that my confessions did the same.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  1. I loved participating in the #authorconfessions. It was not only fun to see what other authors answers were, but also thinking what I wanted to say in only 140 characters! I’d totally participate again. How about a #wipconfessions? That might be fun.
Thank you so much for dreaming it up and hosting it.

  2. Thank YOU for coming up with the idea and hosting the game. I stumbled upon it by chance, but I’m so happy I did. I had a lot of fun taking part and I too had the possibility to meet so many other writers, as well as playing a long with a few friends.

    Thanks so very much šŸ™‚

  3. I got behind on my confessions because of being so danged sick with walking pneumonia/bronchitis. I got behind on a lot this month. But I really loved reading people’s confessions and had fun answering my own when I had the chance! Very cool idea! I hope you do it again!
